MIDHURST COMMUNITY CHOIR

Midhurst Community Choir is the brainchild of mother and daughter Yvonne and Jess.  Having been involved with the Midhurst Players and MADhurst* for a number of years, they became aware of the wealth of talent in Midhurst.  Yvonne and Jess wanted to form the choir to bring the community together; making it open to all over the age of 16 with no experience required, just a love of singing.

In early 2017 MCC was awarded National Lottery funding enabling Yvonne and Jess to officially start the choir in March 2017.

We now have around 50 registered members, the majority of whom have performed in our sell-out concerts.

​

In addition to regular rehearsals and scheduled performances, MCC members often appear at other events such as the MADhurst Cabaret evening, the MADhurst Grand Finale and Midhurst Christmas Street Party.

In March 2018, MCC entered their first competition.  As one of five entrants in the Community Choirs category of the Chichester Music Festival, the choir were proud and delighted to be judged as the winners.  We have since gone on to win the cup in subsequent years , as well a cup for the ladies ensemble.​

We are a friendly bunch and love an opportunity to get together and chat at our regular social evenings.  We have also been known to have a night out at the theatre together too!

*MADhurst is a month-long music, arts and drama festival to promote and celebrate music, arts and drama and the local community.
